About Us

We provide a world-class communications infrastructure with local presence, which improves people's lives.

The Furukawa group´s history began more than 140 years ago in Japan.

We are part of the Furukawa Electric group and produce communication infrastructure solutions to bring people together and improve their lives. With a comprehensive portfolio of communication infrastructure solutions, we serve various markets such as data centers, industries, offices, operators and services, among others, at all application levels.

Our Furukawa Solutions brand is the result of the combination of several research and development, production and support centers spread across five continents, backed by the group's solidity and offering world-class solutions with local support and services. With a strong commitment to society, we provide Infrastructure for life.

Timeline

1974

Furukawa Electric Co. and Mitsui & Co. acquire Kaiser Aluminum and FISA – Furukawa Industrial S/A Produtos Elétricos is born in Lorena - São Paulo.

1977

Inauguration of the industrial unit of Curitiba - Paraná. Production of the first batch of cables of 2,400 pairs, with paper insulated conductors, for telephony.

1982

Start of computer cable production.

1993

The blue color of the Laan cable became a market reference: “Furukawa's Blue cable”.

1995

From products to Solution. FCS-Furukawa Cabling System.

1988

Inauguration of the optical cable factory in Curitiba – Brazil.

2005

Operation of the Factory in Sorocaba: Optical Fiber Production Company (joint venture between Furukawa and Pirelli).

2008

Inauguration of the optical cable factory in Argentina.

2012

FCA – Furukawa Cables and Accessories production of optical components for external network.

2014

Provision of telecom infrastructure for 10 of the 12 FIFA World Cup stadiums in Brazil.

2017

Distribution Center, Factory of Optical Cables and Accessories, in Colombia. Optical Cable Factory in partnership with OFS in Mexicali.
