Description

Optical Splitters are passive components that perform the optical signal splitting in a PON network. They are composed of one or two input fibers and N output fibers, which divide the power of the optical signal proportionally between them, characterizing them as balanced splitters.

There are also the unbalanced splitters which consist of an input fiber and 2 output fibers, which divide the power of the optical signal asymmetrically between them. That is, the power of the optical signal can be divided into different proportions according to the need of each application.
